By creating an account or using Fint, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy. This Policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

2.1 Information you provide directly:

  • Full name, email address, and phone number at registration
  • Business details including business name, CAC number, TIN, business type, address, state, and LGA
  • Identity verification details including BVN, NIN, date of birth, gender, and government-issued ID documents
  • Financial records including sales, purchases, expenses, payroll, debts, loans, and asset transactions you enter into the platform
  • Funding application details including amount requested, purpose, and supporting information

2.2 Information collected automatically:

  • Device type, browser type, and operating system
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Pages visited and features used within the platform
  • Session duration and interaction patterns

2.3 Information from third parties:

  • In future, with your explicit consent, we may collect credit information from licensed credit bureaus including CRC Credit Bureau and FirstCentral Credit Bureau as part of the Level 4 credit bureau verification process

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your Fint account
  • To provide the platform's financial recording, analytics, and funding readiness features
  • To process and facilitate funding applications you submit through Fintegia
  • To verify your identity and business through our KYC process
  • To communicate with you about your account, applications, and platform updates
  • To send you notifications about your KYC status, account level upgrades, and funding opportunities
  • To improve the platform and develop new features
  • To comply with applicable Nigerian laws and regulatory requirements
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or misuse of the platform

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal grounds under applicable Nigerian data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023:

  • Contractual necessity — processing required to provide the services you have signed up for
  • Legitimate interests — improving our platform, preventing fraud, and communicating relevant updates
  • Legal obligation — complying with applicable Nigerian laws and regulations
  • Consent — where you have explicitly consented, such as for credit bureau checks and sharing your data with funding providers

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

5.1 With funding providers:

When you submit a funding application through Fintegia, we share relevant business and identity information with the funding provider as necessary to process your application. This is done only with your explicit consent, given at the point of application.

5.2 With service providers:

We use third-party service providers to operate the platform, including cloud infrastructure and authentication services. These providers process your data only on our instructions and are contractually bound to protect it.

5.3 With professional advisors:

Where you engage Fintegia for bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, or Chartered Accountant certification services, your financial data will be shared with the relevant professional handling your engagement.

5.4 For legal compliance:

We may disclose your information where required by Nigerian law, court order, or regulatory authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fintegia, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal and business data for as long as your account is active and for a minimum of 6 years after account closure, in line with Nigerian financial record-keeping requirements. Identity verification documents are retained for a minimum of 5 years in accordance with applicable KYC and anti-money laundering regulations.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:

  • Encrypted data storage and transmission
  • Role-based access controls limiting who within Fintegia can access your data
  • Audit logging of changes to your financial records and KYC information
  • Regular review of our security practices

While we take data security seriously, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for notifying us immediately of any suspected breach.

8. Your Rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to deletion — request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations

Fint is not directed at or intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete the account and associated data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Fint after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
